One call to your first request
Authenticate with a user token, post your parameters, and get back a JSON object you can store, route or display. Every resource follows the same pattern.
- Tokens survive until the user changes their password — no session juggling.
- File attachments upload as standard multipart form-data.
- Send Accept-Encoding: gzip and responses come back compressed.
curl -X POST "https://company.salesrep.com/helpdesk/api/Request" \

Everything the app does, the API does
More than 80 documented endpoints across the whole platform.
Requests
Create, update, search, close, merge, link, tag, subscribe — plus stats, categories and attachments. The deepest resource, 30+ endpoints.
Comments & replies
Post public replies or private notes, list a request's thread, and reuse your canned-response templates.
Users
Create, update, merge and look up users by ID, email or username; manage technician permissions per category.
Companies & departments
Organize contacts into companies and departments, with custom fields on both.
Knowledge base
List, read and create articles — publish from your CMS or sync docs automatically.
Assets
Full asset inventory: create, update, assign to users, link to requests, retire and reactivate.
Automation rules
Read rule definitions and enable or disable rules programmatically — pause automations during maintenance windows.
AI assistant
Query the AI against your knowledge base and hand off to live chat — embed SalesRep answers in your own products.
Built for production use
Predictable rate limits. Clear fair-use limits with a standard HTTP 429 response when exceeded, so your clients can back off gracefully.
Custom fields everywhere. Read and write custom fields on requests, users, companies and assets — your data model travels with you.
Hardened authentication. Repeated failed logins are throttled automatically, and every call runs under the calling user's permissions.
Simple pagination. count and offset parameters on every list endpoint.
Email & phone ingestion. Dedicated endpoints create requests and comments straight from email or call flows.
Token hygiene. Tokens invalidate when a user changes their password, and admins can revoke every token at once.
Developer questions
How do I authenticate?
Two options: a Bearer user token (recommended — request one from the token endpoint and reuse it), or classic Basic authentication with a username and password. Every call is scoped to that user's permissions.
What format do requests and responses use?
Parameters go as query strings or form fields; responses come back as JSON. File uploads use multipart form-data, and attachments download as raw file data.
Can I use the API on the free trial?
Yes — the 21-day trial includes full API access, so you can build and test your integration before paying anything.
Where is the full reference?
The complete, always-current endpoint reference lives in the in-app Help Center, with bookmarkable sections and copy-ready examples for every method.
